After the Rain

Some after (or between) the rain yard shots. I often just grab the macro lens and see what I can find in my own yard (unfortunately, the kids found some hornets).

           

Macro Turkey Feathers

As promised some closer views of some turkey feathers. All were taken with Nikon 40mm Macro lens and a few using a reversing ring (lens mounted backwards). Enjoy!

NECCC and the Building

This past weekend I attended the NECCC Conference (New England Camera Club Conference). I highly recommend it for the photographers out there. These are photos taken during some downtime. The building shots are of the UMASS Amherst Campus Center. The tunnel shot was taken in Bellows Falls.

A July Evening at Saint Gaudens

Brent and I had a guys night out and stopped in at Saint Gaudens before they closed. We checked out  the workshop and got some photos. We then decided to check out the trails and made a pit stop at the small work shop at the head of the trail. Here we met the sculptor-in-residence. He explained in detail to Brent and I about lost-wax casting and made Brent memorized these terms: the sprue cup, the sprue, the runners, and the riser; all parts of the casting process. We then checked out the old swimming hole and the flower gardens and then off for some strawberry/lemon ice cream in Windsor. A relaxing evening.
