After the Rain

Some after (or between) the rain yard shots. I often just grab the macro lens and see what I can find in my own yard (unfortunately, the kids found some hornets).

           

Too Hot For Apple Picking

We made our annual trek to Riverview Farm for some apple picking, but boy was it hot! Our visit was short, but the kids picked 20 lbs. of apples in no-time. I did have time for a few shots. I was glad to get a nice shot of a damsel fly.

Dahlias in Black and White

From my recent stay in Woodstock, CT. There was a huge flower garden next door with an unbelievable selection of Dahlias. Here is how they look in Black and White.

A July Evening at Saint Gaudens

Brent and I had a guys night out and stopped in at Saint Gaudens before they closed. We checked out  the workshop and got some photos. We then decided to check out the trails and made a pit stop at the small work shop at the head of the trail. Here we met the sculptor-in-residence. He explained in detail to Brent and I about lost-wax casting and made Brent memorized these terms: the sprue cup, the sprue, the runners, and the riser; all parts of the casting process. We then checked out the old swimming hole and the flower gardens and then off for some strawberry/lemon ice cream in Windsor. A relaxing evening.
