Shamrock Shuffle 2016

A huge turnout this year: over 1200 runners and over 200 kids for the fun run. Malynn and Brent both ran for the first time in the one mile fun run and had a blast.

Crisp Morning on Bicknell Brook (Colette Trail)

First rule of thumb, always have your camera ready.  Just as I reached the brook I was head to head with a mink. It was a cold, but bright morning. The shot below was taken with a 10-Stop ND filter. ISO 400, 34mm, f/9.0, 30.0 sec.

These last two shots were taken with a IR filter and converted to B&W.
Both shots: ISO 250, 10mm, f/5.6, 10.0 sec.

Mink Brook

Stopped on the S-turns located on Ruddsboro Road at one of the best little waterfalls in the Upper Valley.  I stop here every year. Unfortunately this year, there was an abundance of trash, including a toaster oven covering the bank between the brook and the road. I do not understand why people do that! Need to bring a trash bag on the next visit. Well anyways, the waterfall was beautiful!

Spring Flow on the Great Brook

The Great Brook (Blood Brook) follows Rte 120 and flows past Storrs Hill into the Mascoma River. A favorite spot of mine. Sunny day, so all shots were takem with 10 stop ND Filter and 30 second exposures.

Snow Mountain

Went for a quick hike up Snow Mountain located on Old Route 10 in Enfield/Grantham next to the Humane Society. The first mile is the access road to the radio tower. It is very steep, but in great shape. At the top of the hill it turns into old logging roads, fairly clear, but you need to watch your step.
