Pileated Woodpecker

When I came home this afternoon there was a pair of woodpeckers making holes in the tree across the street. Boy, these guys can do some damage fast.

Cold Night Shots of the Empire State Building

Walked to the Empire State Building (actually twice because it was closed due to bad weather on the first night). It was very cold even by New Hampshire weather standards. Skyline shots were taken on the 102nd floor through glass with the camera sitting on my backpack. Tripods are not allowed and it was too cold on the open air deck. The Empire State backdrop in the entryway was straightened and flattened by using the lens correction features of Lightroom. Enjoy!

The Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum

If you like anything about  airplanes, ships, or space this is a must if you are in New York City.  There is a World War II era aircraft carrier, the first Ballistic Missile submarine, miscellaneous aircraft, and the highlight of the museum-the Space Shuttle.

Museum of Flight Part III-SR-71 Blackbird

The Lockheed SR-71 is the main focus point in the museum’s main hall. This Blackbird was actually a M-21 which was built for the CIA. You can see the unmanned drone attached to the top of the airplane. This plane was built in 1963-an amazing and hi-tech plane that is now 50 years old. Enjoy the many different angles that I shot of this very beautiful and unique airplane.
