Paris-Dedicated Subject: Pont Neuf Bridge

The Pont Neuf (New) Bridge was an interesting subject to photograph. I t had many curves and angles. Here are my best shots:

My Trip to Paris (Part 5)

The Left Bank Part 2-The Catacombs

A must visit for the adventurous are the Paris Catacombs (you cannot be claustrophobic). The Catacomb entrance is located at Place Denfert-Rochereau. There is a large Lion statue in the middle of the square. It was about a 25 minute walk from my hotel. Get there when they open because they only allow 200 people at a time through the tunnels and there can be long lines. The tunnels are about 60 ft. below street level. You first walk through rooms with brief histories of the catacombs then a 1.5 km walk to the beginning of the caverns full of bones-over 6 million people are buried here.

My Trip to Paris (Part 4)

The Left Bank-Jardin du Luxembourg
I enjoyed the left bank. If I was to live in Paris, this is where I would live. There are many gardens, small cathedrals, and nice neighborhoods.
The largest garden is the Jardin du Luxembourg (second largest in Paris).  The Luxembourg Palace, the main focal point of the garden, houses the French Senate. It was very well guarded. This over 50,000 acre garden is where all of the locals bring their families to exercise and relax.

Early Morning on the Mascoma River

I was finally able to get out to take some pictures for about an hour by myself. These shots were taken just north of the covered bridge on the Mascoma River in Lebanon, NH. All of these shots were 9 shots at different exposures with a high f-stop to make the water look like ice. I used my 18-55 mm lens with a graduated filter and a tripod with remote. Photos were processed with Photmatix-PhotoShop-Lightroom. Enjoy!

Shamrock Shuffle 2012

I thought I would repost my photos and video from last year’s race. As you can see there was more green.
